Cherokee Side

The team have been putting the Cherokee Chief Mk2 through its paces. The Boat is available from www.Datelinemarine.com and is classed as a deep v mono suitable of Electric or IC.  The team really enjoyed building up the Cherokee , plenty of room inside and its solidly built.The deep v means it has inherent stability and we let it fly itself without the aid of trim tabs and turn fins.

Garmin EtrexThe video shows the boats maiden voyage on 2x3s1p Lithium and was running in the high 20s. The boat was clocked at 31.5mph ( Garmin Etrex) on a later run using a single 4s1p

2500mah pack weighing just 270grams.

The Cherokee is powered by two speedrace 700 motors connected in line driving a 4mm wire drive. The motors were wired in parallel to take advantage of the massive current output from the flightpower pack and were drawing around 30 amps each.

The transom hardware was custom built by the team and weighs around 60grams inc prop

twin 700 motors and bracket 900g ,4s1p pack 270g,ESC in water/crash proof capsule 150g Transom hardware 60g , Rx 4x AAA GP1000mah 50g, Garmin Etrex 150g (inc 2x GP AA 2700mah) Servo and bracket 40g the rest being made up by the hull and misc fittings this hull will take 50volts of lithium with ease and we are investigating brushless motor options if your club is interested in setting up a class for Lithium power please contact us

The Batboat gets the Blackswan treatment. We dropped in a small outrunner brushless motor and a 4s1p pack from www.flightpower.co.uk and were pulling wheelies from a standing start.

Ugly Duckling test boat

The boat pictured here is running with with 2 graupner 9.6v 13k rpm motors on 45mm carbon props flanking  a Torpedo  850 12v motor on 52.5mm carbon prop powered by 18 GP3300 mah Nimh Batteries in series (approx 25volts).

It was clocked at over 25mph which is not that far off the current UK record for this class - the boat has not been set up or trimmed in any way and weighs 6 kilos and  we intent to run the boat gain around the new year on 24 cells and 4 kilos weight this should see us past the 30mph mark.
